Recently I was visiting a website that had a spiritual gifts survey online. I like to take these every few years to see how my views may have changed. I took this one trying to answer each question with thought and not just put any answer. After taking the test I found that I have grown in Mercy as well as shepherding. I have always been strong in the gifts of helps, but that was not one of my top three. Teaching, mercy and shepherding were my top three.
We all have gifts that God gives us. I would encourage anyone that is seeking how to serve God to take one of these tests. It does take some time and may not be 100 percent accurate, but it can give you an idea about what type of ministry you should be serving in.

Spiritual Search
I am currently on what I am calling a spiritual Journey. I am seeking and exploring the scriptures seeking God and what he has in store for me. I have been feeling a pull on my heart to dig deeper into the scriptures and spend a lot more time with God. Currently I spend at least 20 to 30 minutes a day on average praying, reading and meditating on scripture. I believe that since I have started this journey God has began to honor the time I am spending with Him. I know this does not sound like a lot of time, but it really is just the beginning. Each morning and each evening I have spent time in prayer. I spend time reading scripture in the morning and meditating on the word throughout the day.
Just like all of you I have been going through trials, especially when I began to set aside time for God. I knew that the enemy would begin to strike as I turned my eyes to God.
I have learned through my reading, prayer and bible studies to be happy with who I am and to really trust God. I don't mean saying it, but really believing that I can lean on God and know that it is His will not mine that is to be done.
With this perspective I can be excited to see what God has in store for me. I get up each morning with excitement not anxiety. I ask God each morning to prepare my way and to help me to be prepared for what is in store for me. I also pray that through my day I might be an example or light to others. To share God's love when ever I can.
I urge you to begin getting into the word, praying and meditating on His word. You will be blessed.

Psalm 143
This is another great psalm. In this psalm David is seeking guidance and deliverance.
I like verse 3 where David reminds God that no one living is righteous in His sight. God knows this but, it is a simple reminder that no one is perfect and that we all fall short.
David is being persecuted by his enemies and is overwhelmed. He says his heart is overwhelmed.
David then asks God to show him the way. To help deliver him from his enemies. He then asks to be revived.
He ends the psalm with, "I am your servant."
As I read this psalm I am reminded about the many times I have felt this way. Many times I have felt that I was being persecuted by others who had power over me. People like banks, creditors, employers, etc. I am reminded in this psalm that I can call on God to help deliver me when I am wrongly accused or need guidance in a situation. When you are feeling that the world is against you, this is a good psalm to read for encouragement and direction.
